About me

I grew up in South Australia with a very close bond to my mother. She worked with her hands, and from a young age I was always by her side — watching, helping, learning. Some of my earliest memories are of sitting at the table, carefully shaping small pieces and being taught that anything worth making should be made properly. Slowly. With pride.

That foundation shaped who I am.

More than 30 years ago, I began working at a jeweller’s bench. Over the decades, I designed for some of the biggest brands in the industry. I watched my work travel the world — but I also watched the industry change. What was once about craftsmanship slowly became about margins. Pieces were made faster. Materials became lighter. Quality was replaced with convenience.

And I couldn’t stand behind that anymore.

So I stepped away and created jewellery under my own name — Margaret Jewellery. Today, I make every single piece myself here in Adelaide. No shortcuts. No thin metals. No cheap materials. Just solid, honest craftsmanship built to last decades — not just a season.

Because I craft each piece by hand, I can only create a limited number each month. To mark this first independent release, I’ve opened special introductory pricing by removing the middlemen and inflated brand markups, so women across Australia can finally experience jewellery made the way it used to be.

Every piece I create still carries the same values I was taught all those years ago — care, intention, and something built to last.
